Students measure scale drawings of famous "supertall" skyscrapers and solve more proportions to find the heights of other skyscrapers drawn with the same scale.
Students measure scale drawings of famous “supertall” skyscrapers and solve more proportions to find the heights of other skyscrapers drawn with the same scale.
Students will then use a proportion to find the height of a skyscraper. The worksheet guides students through setting up the proportion, solving the proportion, and find the scale to use for future problems.
In the last problem, students use a model of a lighthouse to determine the height of a model of their self. They will also use the Line command to draw a picture of themselves next to the scale drawing.
